Mr. Chris Lu is a highly trained specialist general and laparoscopic surgeon with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, hernia surgery and obesity surgery. He is known for his focus to rapid recovery and uncompromising patient care.

Mr. Chris Lu provides consultation and treats patients at several locations throughout the Inner west and the West of Melbourne, including Essendon, Footscray, Werribee, Sunbury, Bacchus Marsh, Coburg and Sydenham.

Having grown up in Shanghai, Mr. Chris Lu migrated to Darwin, Australia at the age of 17. Two years later he moved to Melbourne to study medicine after topping South Australia/Northern Territory in Year 12 Examinations. 

Mr. Chris Lu graduated from medical school at the University of Melbourne with first degree honours in 2000. He underwent postgraduate surgical training and research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Western Hospital and the Austin Hospital. Mr. Chris Lu completed advanced surgical training (FRACS) in 2010. He spent further fellowship years in upper gastrointestinal surgery and obesity surgery. 

Mr. Chris Lu has been treating patients in the Western suburbs of Melbourne since 2011 as a specialist. Recently he and his associates moved to Essendon Specialists on Buckley Street, Essendon as the practice continues to grow. 

In his spare time Mr. Chris Lu has strong interests in a number of sports including soccer, table tennis and rock climbing, as well as reading history while enjoying a cup of green tea.
